I have had my share of home carpentry projects! Usually it starts with something simple… like something that isn’t exactly where I want it to be, like the chandelier that needed to be made longer for better placement over the table. Or it can be a floor plan that isn’t functioning well and needs a new doorway to be added so it can be part of another room. Another issue can be space and finding where you didn’t think it existed, like creating a hallway library from a closet.
Through each of these, I’ve learned and taken note of what tools and techniques worked best for the carpentry projects. Even if it’s a carpentry project I’ve designed, but haven’t done the actual work myself, I still learned a ton from and will share those with you as well.
Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve done plenty of DIY and carpentry projects myself! And yes, for other bigger carpentry projects, I’ve done the designs, but hired help to bring my vision to fruition. The point is to be encouraged to have some understanding of the process and be brave enough to step out and create a home that you will love.
This page is meant to inspire you to think outside the box and be inspired to either DIY a project yourself or get a little help with it. Either way, make it your own and enjoy the end results!
