Oh my, isn’t it just so wonderful that the warm months are finally here?! We’re up in NW Wisconsin, and winter seemed especially long this year. But now spring has arrived with summer right around the corner so let’s celebrate on the porch with some summer porch ideas!
What’s not to love about porches?

When we redid our house we added a pretty large front porch and I don’t regret that decision.

It makes a welcoming statement from the front, and in the summer it’s a great place to enjoy!

Our last house had a welcoming front porch with an attached carport.

The house before that had a very small stoop of a front porch, so we added a pergola covered patio to create an enlarged front porch feel.
But even if there is only a small roof over the door, like in this sweet little cottage,

just a simple hanging basket addition can feel inviting, and create a lovely summer porch feel.
I’ve always loved walking by this cottage that has the flanking built in bench front porch.

That simple and sweet detail is just perfect. I always imagine sharing some iced tea, while sitting on one side and visiting with a friend opposite me on the other side. (I wonder if the homeowner would notice us? LOL)

The covered and enclosed front porch on this house feels like such a cozy and safe harbor from the elements doesn’t it?
This porch doesn’t have any embellishments,

but still is making a fun summer porch statement with a bold, (and I love it!) color choice for just the front door.

This peach/apricot color choice for the front door is unexpected with the dark brown house, but actually pulls it off nicely.
Another inspirational summer porch idea is on this fantastic house.

The beams and columns on the porch that create those interesting triangular cutout shapes are beautiful details.
So how about you, do you have anything notable for your summer porch? A unique feature like beams, or built in benches? A fun color on your front door? A color basket of flowers? How about a special piece of furniture?
If you’ve been following this blog for any time now, you must know that I love vintage finds! I was doing a porch pickup for a vintage find recently, and just had to share with you their porch…
The homeowner told me that the metal porch furniture is truly vintage, they belonged to her grandparents! How fun is that?!

She also had a great tip for us… She had her brother, who owns a car body shop, re-do them for her! So when you’re thinking about restoring metal pieces, that may be the perfect place to get a bid from!
If you want to paint them yourself, I have the perfect paint for you in my shop, Frame and Frills. I have Fusion Mineral Paint in stock and it’s amazing paint for interior and exterior! Fantastic coverage and durability, and very natural and safe!
I love her color choices for her very special vintage metal furniture on her front porch…

The addition of the colorful bike just speaks volumes of FUN for this summer porch!

Fusion Mineral Paint colors that would be a close match to these would be Limestone for the yellow/off white tone and either Coral or Tuscan Orange for the orange tone. Coral is softer and lighter than Tuscan Orange.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to pop over to the Frame and Frills site, and see all that’s new… There are so many beautiful colors of Fusion Mineral Paint, plus more! Check out the upcoming Fusion Mineral Paint and decoupage workshops!
