DIY Easter Bunting Banner with a Message

SimpleDecoratingTips.com Easter banner cover

Getting ready to decorate a bit here for Easter, so I thought I’d re-post this from a few years ago, (and from our former house)… in case someone is needing a little Easter decorating inspiration… After enjoying some fun Easter decorations for the dining room, the living room really needed something too.

Trying to stay in the neutral color scheme I’ve been working on in the great room, and only using leftovers from other projects, I simply made this pendant banner with a Bible verse on it.

I wanted a verse that I want my grandchildren to learn… and had to do with Jesus’ resurrection, and how that great event impacts us, so I chose Romans 10:9.

I just simple typed in on the computer in the font I wanted and used that for my reference to first sketch, then go over that with a Fabric Markers (available here)
on the fabric pendant.

The burlap, leftover from the dining room tablescape, is from the garden center and actually made to be used in landscaping.

The fabric I wrote the verse on is a leftover scrap for some pillows I made for the family room, it is a stiff printed linen type of fabric, which is the perfect type of material if you want to do this craft. Otherwise you could iron some fusible lining on the back of a softer fabric to help it stiffen up and hold it’s shape when it’s hanging on the mantel or wherever you’re going to hang it.

So when the paint was dry, I simply glue-gunned the layers, burlap and fabric, onto a length of jute I cut from the spool I originally used for this project: click here to see burlap and jute table re-do

I nailed tiny brad nails to the top of the mantel to string up the banner on.

One of my granddaughters was over the other day, and I think she already has the verse memorized! Yay!! That was my hope!

Hope you found a bit of inspiration to do a little Easter decorating at your place too.
