I have done a lot of painting in my life… I couldn’t even begin to count all the rooms, woodwork, furniture, exterior houses and sheds I’ve painted in all the years…
but still for some reason, I felt like I was really splurging when I purchased this ‘Handy Roller Pail’ a few years ago.
I guess because paint cans are free, for so many years it seemed silly to ‘buy’ a paint pail.
But, let me tell you, it is wonderful! One of the best investments I’ve made. Not only has it saved me money and time, but I figure probably my life too!
See that square to the left? That’s a magnet that holds my paintbrush up out of the paint, but if paint drips off the brush it keeps into the pail.
See? Like this. And it really holds it too. As I’ve been painting the exterior of the house, I’ve been traipsing up and down ladders and scaffolding and pergola rafters, so by using this paint pail it’s freed up my other hand to hold on to the ladder, saving my life, I’m sure.
The mini roller I use had a groove in the handle that actually sits on the opposite edge so it holds it up out of the paint too.
Another good thing about using a handy roller pail like this is that you can pour a small amount of paint into it, and then promptly cover up the main bucket of paint to keep it from getting ‘gunky’, saving paint… money!
And by having the angled bumpy surface on the one side, I can dip the mini roller into the paint, roll it out on the edge and paint away, without even having to bend down to a paint tray… saving time!
So much simple cleverness and loads of savings packed into one little pail… how did I do it without it? So glad I finally splurged!
