Little Brick Cottage: Quick ReCap

**Please Note** The little brick cottage renovation project took place and was originally posted here in 2012! It was my first project I posted on as well. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see posts on this entire project.

In case you missed it, we recently bought and restored a late 1800’s brick house, which I refer to as ‘The Little Brick Cottage’. We don’t live in the cottage, but bought it to restore it and help preserve a little history in the cute town we live in NW Wisconsin. Maybe one day we’ll sell it, but for now we’re happy to be renting it to a family that appreciates the property.

Even though I’ve taken you through this project post by post, and it’s now completed, I thought it would be fun to see a complete home tour of each room in a single post, to read more about projects from each room, just click on the highlighted room’s name to see all the posts about that particular room.

So here goes the complete tour of the little brick cottage…

Starting at the front entry:

From the front entry moving into the living room:

From the living room through the beautiful arched pocket doors into the dining room:

Then off the dining room is the 2nd bedroom:

Since we’re talking bedrooms, here’s the bedroom:

And between the two bedrooms is the bathroom with the laundry area we added:

The kitchen of the cottage has had a wonderful transformation:

And finishing the cottage tour with the back entry:

This was a quick summary of the whole renovation in a single post. Check out all the posts on individual projects throughout this little brick cottage renovation!

How could you possibly ever let it go? Once I put my heart and soul into something I get so attached and I just can’t imagine how I’d feel having to let something this fabulous go. You did such incredible work. That family is so lucky to be able to rent and enjoy the restoration. Found your post at REDOUX. Hope you’ll stop over and visit at Quirky Vistas.

What a lovely transformation of your cottage! I am so glad to see you staying true to the character and features of the period, yet it is current. Great job!

Gosh! This is amazing! Y’all did a fantastic job on this cottage. I was surprized how big it actually is on the inside. From the outside, it looks tiny. How wonderful to save the cottage for future generations…it deserved to live on. I saw your post over at “No Minimalist Here”.

Your cottage transformation is fabulous. I love the arched opening in the living room and so I am off to check out the details of that room.

It makes total sense…we had a 100 year old house, we did the roof, siding, new windows, landscaping, remodeled the kitchen and two bathrooms…and rewired. My son and roommates lived in it for 6 years, then we sold it. I hope we gave that house another 100 years!!

Your cottage is in remarkable shape, looks like it was well taken care of. You did a great job of sprucing her up! Love the colors you chose. So peaceful…just what a cottage should be. Curious if you are going to furnish it?
How long have you been working on it?
