When we transformed our garage to our dining room in “Our House”, we had to build out a ledge to accommodate and hide some utilities. But once the French doors were installed, I realized it wasn’t going to take much time at all before we found ourselves with a ledge right through the glass on the door.
My carpenter suggested a door stop. At first I thought he meant those spring looking things with a rubber stopper on the end that typically mounts on the baseboard. That wouldn’t work, I explained. Then he clarified, not that style, but the simple style that mounts on the hinge. Perfect!
So I guess the simple moral of the story is, “If you find your door opening too wide, don’t be disheartened, just put a stop to it!”
